Jerry Smith

Town Council Candidate - 4 Year Term

Jerry Smith

Jerry Smith loves Pinetop-Lakeside.   He and his wife, Karen, of 56 years have been coming up here since 1967.  They have lived in both Pinetop (Holiday Forest & Woodland Hills) and Lakeside (Forest Meadow) since 1995.   He was first elected to Town Council 8 years ago and served as Vice Mayor for 6 years.  Jerry is very active in the community, currently serving as Chairman of the Transit Advisory Committee (Four Seasons and White Mountain Bus system) and a Member of Save our Park since 2015 (Acquisition of Woodland Lake Park).  He served two years as Chairman of the Area Agency on Aging (Northern Arizona Council of Governments), as a member of the Board of Directors of the Community (Senior) Center, and as President of the non-profit Arizona Alpine Trail, Inc.  He retired from a career in Engineering and Commercial Real Estate. He is also an adjunct professor at NPC, teaching the real estate licensing course.

Jerry is a conservative that believes in putting Pinetop-Lakeside first.  He is a good listener, allowing him to make informed decisions in concert with the wishes of the local residents.  His leadership style is to take the 30,000-foot view of all issues and do what he believes to be the best option for the Town.

Jerry is proud to have been a supporter of the purchase of the new Town Hall Building, the purchase of Woodland Lake Park, and the construction of the new Police Department Building.  He is a supporter of the potential purchase of the approximately 450 acres of the Woodland Lake Tract, which connects Woodland Lake Park to Mountain Meadow Park, and of a proposed deep well at Woodland Lake  to support the fish & wildlife and health of the lake, while providing water for our baseball and soccer fields.
