ELECTION NEWS FOR THE TOWN OF PINETOP-LAKESIDE

Candidate packets available beginning January 8, 2024 

The Town of Pinetop-Lakeside will hold a primary election on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, in conjunction with the county election, for the purpose of electing three council members (4-year term) and one council member (2-year term). A general election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, to fill any seats that remain unfilled after the primary election. 

Anyone interested in running for a council seat must be 18 years of age at the time of the primary election, be a qualified elector residing within the Town limits of Pinetop-Lakeside at the time of the election and have resided within the Town limits for one year preceding the election. Council members are non-partisan and serve at large (meaning that they represent all citizens, not a specific area or district of the Town). 

Candidate nomination packets for anyone wishing to run for town council will be available beginning January 8, 2024, at the Town of Pinetop-Lakeside, 325 W. White Mountain Blvd., Lakeside, AZ 85929. The filing period for candidate nomination papers begins March 9, 2024, and ends April 8, 2024 (no later than 5:00 p.m.). The Town Clerk’s office coordinates and conducts all municipal elections, which are open to all registered voters within the Town limits of Pinetop-Lakeside. For more information about the Town of Pinetop-Lakeside elections, call (928) 368-8696 ext. 221. 

Key election dates for the August 6th, 2024 Primary Election: 

  • May 5th is the first day to request an early ballot to be mailed from Navajo County (928) 524-4062 
  • July 8th is the last day to register to vote 
  • July 26th is the last day to request an early ballot to be mailed 
  • July 2nd is the last day to vote an early ballot (in person at County offices) 
  • Key election dates for the November 5th, 2024 General Election: 
  • August 4th is the first day to request an early ballot to be mailed 
  • October 8th is the last day to register to vote 
  • October 25th is the last day to request an early ballot to be mailed 
  • November 1st is the last day to vote an early ballot (in person at County offices)
