The Town of Pinetop-Lakeside must hold a Special Referendum Election on May 16, 2023, to refer to a vote of the people for their approval or rejection of Proposition 431 calling for the Repeal of Resolution No. 22-1634 which Amended the 2015 General Plan Land Use Element. A Publicity Pamphlet with supporting and opposing arguments for this ballot measure will be prepared. 

A “YES” vote shall have the effect of Repealing Resolution No. 22-1634. 

A “NO” vote shall have the effect of leaving Resolution No. 22-1634 in place as adopted by the Town Council of the Town of Pinetop-Lakeside on October 6, 2022. 

The deadline for submission of supporting or opposing arguments for this proposition is January 31, 2023, 4:00 p.m. Arguments must not exceed 300 words in length and a payment of $200.00 per argument is required by Town Code Chapter 1.08 and Ordinance 06-274 to help offset a portion of the cost of the Publicity Pamphlet. Arguments may be submitted by mail, email, or hand delivery. Electronic statements may be emailed to the Town Clerk Each argument shall contain the sworn statement of each person sponsoring it. If the argument is sponsored by an organization, it shall contain the sworn statement of two executive officers of the organization or if sponsored by a political committee, it shall contain the sworn statement of the committee’s chairman or treasurer. The person or persons signing the argument shall also identify themselves by giving their residence or post office address and a telephone number, which information shall not appear in the publicity pamphlet, but the person’s city or town and state of residence will appear in the publicity pamphlet.
